Crime Stoppers Featured Case #22-16 – Shooting Investigation

Investigating Agency: Portland Police Bureau

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve a November 2021 shooting in East Portland.

On November 2, 2021, at approximately 2:26 p.m., in the area of 122nd Avenue and East Burnside Street, an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds from a handgun at a black Ford Mustang being driven by a 40-year-old Portland man. The vehicle sustained damage from gunfire but the driver was not injured.

The suspect was described as a Black male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a dark puffy jacket, blue jeans, and black shoe with white soles.

Investigators located area surveillance video and have released a still image from a video of the suspect, who is carrying some kind of black container or case in his left hand and talking on the phone with his right hand.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone with information about this shooting investigation.

Investigating Agency: Marion County Sheriff’s Office

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the April 2021 homicide of Juan Manuel Perez, a 39-year-old man from Hillsboro.

On April 21, 2021, at 10:41 p.m., emergency services were called to a car fire on Sunnyview Road NE near Hibbard Road NE in rural Marion County. When the fire was put out, Juan Manuel Perez was found deceased inside of the vehicle. Detectives from the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called out to the scene to investigate the suspicious death.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the victim and ruled Perez's death a homicide.

Detectives with the Marion County Sheriff's Office would like to hear from anyone with information about the death of Mr. Perez.

Investigating Agency: Portland Police Bureau

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the May 2021 homicide of Danae Williams.

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 8:55 p.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 6800 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. When the officers arrived, they located two shooting victims, an adult male and adult female. The victims were transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital for treatment for life threatening injuries. The male victim survived; however, the female victim succumbed to her injuries and later died at the hospital.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined that the victim, 25-year-old Danae K. Williams of Portland, died as a result of gunshot wounds and ruled her death a homicide.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone with information about the shooting death of Ms. Williams.

On April 8, 2022, the body of 44-year-old Jeremy Levi Gurtner was found in the Columbia River Slough near NE 105th Avenue and NE Alderwood Road, in Portland, Oregon. Detectives estimate that Mr. Gurtner had been deceased anywhere from four days to two weeks.

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the March 2022 homicide of Mohamed Shaani.

On Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 9:38 p.m., Portland Police Bureau officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting near Northeast Milton Street and Northeast 82nd Avenue. When officers arrived they located an adult male who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers attempted life-saving measures until paramedics arrived but the victim did not survive.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the victim, 39-year-old Mohamed Shaani, and determined that he died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone with information about the shooting death of Mr. Shaani.

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the March 2022 homicide of Zackary Harris.

On March 16, 2022, Portland Police Bureau officers were dispatched to a shooting call under Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard near Northeast Halsey Street. When officers arrived, they located a man who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. Although medical professionals' life-saving efforts were successful for an extended period of time, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and determined that the victim, 31-year-old Zackary Joel Harris, died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Homicide detectives would like to hear from anyone with any information about the homicide of Zackary Harris.

The Vancouver Police Department, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the August 2021 homicide of Tyler Harris.

On August 29, 2021, Vancouver Police officers responded to the 3500 block of NE 50th Court on the report of a suspicious circumstance. A resident in the complex heard a loud noise and saw their neighbor lying in the doorway of his residence. When police arrived, they located 19-year-old Tyler Harris, deceased from a gunshot wound. His death was ruled a homicide.

Surveillance video from the night of the shooting shows two females (see photo labeled Females 1) and one male (see photos labeled Male 1 and Shoes) knock on Mr. Harris’s door, moments later Mr. Harris is shot, and the three subjects flee.

One of the females is wearing dark colored leggings with red and white "Fila" on the side.

The other female is wearing dark colored leggings that stop just below the knee, a dark colored hoodie that has white print on the front which looked like "Washington State" along with a "cougar" logo below and black shoes with white bottoms.

The male is wearing distinctive Nike shoes that are white and black on the front but are orange and yellow at the back.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Team are continuing the investigation into the shooting death of Mr. Harris and no arrests have been made in this case

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the February 2022 homicide of Adau Duop.

On February 20, 2022, at 10:37 p.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a call of traffic crash in the 12800 block of Southeast Foster Road. As officers were responding, the call was updated to report that the vehicle was possibly shot at and additional callers reported hearing gunshots in the area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered four people in the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. An adult female in the car was deceased and an adult male and two small children were transported by ambulance to Portland hospitals for treatment to gunshot wounds. The adult male’s injuries were life threatening but he is expected to survive. The children’s injuries were serious but ultimately they were released from the hospital after treatment.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased, identified as 25-year-old Adau G. Duop of Portland, and determined she died as a result of a gunshot wound, ruling her death a homicide.

Homicide detectives would like to hear from anyone with any information about the homicide of Adau Duop.

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the February 2022 homicide of Jeff Ramirez.

On February 2, 2022, at 3:51 p.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 11900 block of Southeast Stark Street. Officers arrived in the area and located one male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Another victim, an adult male, was located near Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 122nd Avenue. He was transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. No suspect or suspects were located at the scene.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the deceased victim, 35-year-old Jeff Ramirez of Portland, and determined the cause of death to be gunshot wound and ruled Ramirez’ death a homicide.

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the December 2021 homicide of Michael Johnson.

On December 23, 2021, at 10:18 a.m., Portland Police Bureau officers were dispatched to the area of North Vancouver Avenue and North Farragut Street, on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived in the area and discovered an adult male inside of a tent who appeared to be deceased. Officers checked the area for a suspect but believe the suspect left in a vehicle after the shooting. Based on information and evidence at the scene, Homicide detectives were called to begin an investigation.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that the victim, 53-year-old Michael Johnson of Portland, died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Homicide detectives would like to hear from anyone with any information about the homicide of Michael Johnson.

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the homicides of Andre and Quayan Foster.

On Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 1:47a.m., Portland Police Bureau officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 4400 block of Northeast 131st Place. When officers arrived, they located three gunshot victims. One of the victims died at the scene, a second died after being transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital. The third victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

No suspects were immediately located and no arrests have been made. The deceased victims were identified as Andre Foster, 43, and his nephew, Quayan Foster, 21, both of Portland. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause and manner of death to be homicide by gunshot wound.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined that the victim, 39-year-old Isaiah Dewayne Hurst of Portland, died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled the death a homicide.

On November 28, 2021, at approximately 8:43 p.m., Gresham Police Department officers responded to a death investigation call at Pat Pfeifer Park, located at 424 NE 172nd Avenue.

Officers and medical personnel arrived, finding 24-year-old Jose Juan Santos-Elias, of Portland, suffering from a gunshot wound. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined Jose died as a result of being shot and has ruled the death a homicide.

Officers arrived in the area and located 37-year-old Anthony Tyler McNaughton suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital but later died as a result of his injuries.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that McNaughton died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Over the past few months, several unidentified suspects have committed multiple armed robberies at convenience stores in North and Northeast Portland.

The suspects have displayed a firearm on each occasion and leave the area on foot. The suspects are white and/or light-skinned Black males in their late teens to early twenties, and target cash and tobacco products.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that Garner died as a result of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Investigating Agency: Hood River County Sheriff’s Office

The Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the disappearance and homicide of Tisha Dyer.

In June 2003, human remains were located in a remote location on a Mount Hood forest road in Hood River County. In 2021, the Oregon State Medical Examiner identified the remains as Tisha Ann Dyer, missing since 2002.

Hood River County Sheriff’s Office detectives learned that Tisha’s family and friends had not heard from or seen Tisha since 2002. At the time of her disappearance, Tisha was 36 years old, approximately 5’5” tall, and 130 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, Tisha was thought to be living the Portland area. According to the investigation, Tisha was not known to be involved in hiking or any other outdoor activities that would have taken her to a remote location on Mount Hood.

Investigators have shared three photos of Tisha to aid in the investigation: Two photos of Tisha at a party in the early 1990s (wearing a blue dress) and a 2001 DMV photo.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to solve this case.

The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the November 2020 homicide of Harold Major.

On November 7, 2020, at approximately 7:33 p.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to the report of gunshots in the 3500 Block of Southeast 33rd Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and located a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered medical aid to the victim until paramedics arrived, however, the victim died at the scene.

The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that the victim, 31-year old Harold Andrew Major, died as a result of a gunshot wound and the death was ruled a homicide.

Evidence of a drive by shooting was located in an intersection near the crime scene.  Investigators do not believe Mr. Major was involved in what led to the shooting and do not believe Mr. Major was an intended target of the shooting.

The Vancouver Police Department, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the May 2021 homicide of Therron Pittman.

On May 31, 2021, Vancouver Police Department officers responded to the 200 block of E 27th Street for the report of gunshots in the area. When officers and emergency medical personnel arrived, they located 45-year-old Therron Darnell Pittman, deceased in front of a residence.

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department are continuing the investigation into the shooting death of Mr. Pittman.

No arrests have been made in this case.

Investigating Agency: Marion County Sheriff’s Office

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the August 2021 homicide of Travis Juetten.

On Friday, August 13, 2021, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to reported stabbing at a rural home in Marion County near the intersection of Howell Prairie Road NE and Hazelgreen Road NE. When deputies arrived, they located a husband and wife inside of the home who had both suffered multiple stab wounds. Tragically, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female was transported by ambulance with serious injuries.

The deceased victim has been identified as Travis Richard Juetten, 26. His wife, Jamilyn Rebekah Juetten, 24, is in stable condition and still recovering in the hospital. Detectives learned the stabbing occurred after Travis confronted an unknown intruder in the couple’s home.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death a homicide.
